Dear CCPA Learning Community,
As we move through the middle of second semester, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strong work happening across Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy. Our focus remains the same — academic excellence and holistic programming that supports the whole child. That commitment is visible every single day in our classrooms, on our stages, and on our athletic courts.
At CCPA, everything we do is grounded in The CCPA Way — Care, Collaboration, Positivity, and Accountability. These are not just words on a wall. They are expectations we model, teach, and reinforce daily. Whether it’s how we support a struggling reader, how teammates respond after a tough loss, or how students present themselves on stage, The CCPA Way guides our culture.
At the Elementary School, our scholars are engaged and growing. From hands-on MELTS energy science projects in 4th grade to 5th grade students building leadership skills through collaborative math strategies, our students are thinking critically and supporting one another. Celebrating World Read Aloud Day was another reminder that literacy remains a priority and a foundation for long-term success.
At the Middle School, our Junior Phi Beta and Omega Scholars continue to step into leadership roles — mentoring younger students, representing CCPA in the community, and modeling what it means to live out The CCPA Way. Events like the Winter PJ Dance celebrated not just fun, but effort, achievement, and positive behavior.
At the High School, our students had the opportunity to attend Broadway at the Aronoff Center — a powerful experience connecting learning to real-world art and storytelling. Our Annual Black History Family Night program showcased incredible talent in art, music, and dance and brought our families together in a meaningful way. These moments matter. They remind us that education is bigger than a test score — it’s about exposure, confidence, culture, and growth.
Winter Athletics – Strong Finish
As the winter season comes to a close, I want to congratulate our student-athletes and coaches.
- High School Girls Basketball finished 3rd in the CMAC with an 8–3 record — just one game out of first place — and competed in the first round of the OHSAA playoffs. Congratulations to Coach Behanan on a strong first season leading the program.
- Freshman Boys Basketball brought home the CMAC Championship. That is a big accomplishment and a sign of continued growth within our high school program.
- Middle School Girls Basketball, under first-year coach Haley Powers, completed an undefeated regular season and advanced to the CMAC Semi-Finals.
- Middle School Boys Basketball also advanced to the CMAC Semi-Finals, competing hard all season.
- Our Boys Indoor Track Team has qualified for the Ohio Indoor Track Championship in Division IV on March 7 in multiple events.
These teams have shown resilience, teamwork, and accountability — all reflections of The CCPA Way in action. Let’s give all of our Lions a big handclap.
Enrollment – 2026–2027 School Year
We are now accepting Kindergarten applications for the 2026–2027 school year. We have limited openings in Elementary, and as many of you know, seats fill quickly. If you have family members, neighbors, or friends who are considering CCPA, please encourage them to begin the process early. We strongly encourage prospective families to schedule a campus tour and visit. The best way to understand CCPA is to walk the halls, see the instruction, meet our team, and experience the culture firsthand.
Please also note that Spring Break begins March 23rd. It will be here before we know it. Let’s stay focused, maintain strong attendance, and finish this stretch strong heading into the break.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school. The success we are seeing across academics, arts, and athletics happens because we work together as one learning community.
I encourage you to take a few moments to review the full highlights and stories in our most recent SMORE newsletter.
